Several places in Brazil with exotic species plantations, such as Eucalyptus, have been increased substantially in recent years, especially by the great demand for wood pulp, coal and construction. In the municipality of Paraibuna-SP, located near to Serra do Mar region, such plantings has developed in areas with mountainous terrain and steep slopes. The cycle of eucalyptus include different successional stages from the time of planting to harvesting, with soil exposure in some stages of the cycle, which makes it more susceptible to landslide process. The use of technologies such as geographic information System (GIS) can assist in the identification of these processes, as it allows the integration of spatial data from different sources and the analysis of natural phenomena. A tool used in this analysis is the technique of spatial inference. This work examined the susceptibility to mass movement in the municipality of Paraibuna, using fuzzy gamma technique, in areas with different types of land use and land cover, including eucalyptus plantations in its different stages of development. Geological maps, geomorphologic, soil, climate and topography were used. Susceptibility maps were generated in scenarios with different gamma values for the rainy season. The results obtained in the areas planted with eucalyptus were compared with results obtained in other uses and land cover.
