A m\u00e9dia global da fra\u00e7\u00e3o molar de CH<sub>4<\/sub>\u00a0atingiu um novo recorde de 1813 \u00b1 2 ppb em 2011. Este trabalho objetiva quantificar a concentra\u00e7\u00e3o e fluxo de metano no perfil vertical da floresta prim\u00e1ria tropical (Floresta Nacional do Tapaj\u00f3s), assim como, determinar a emiss\u00e3o de metano na interface solo-atmosfera durante o per\u00edodo chuvoso e de estiagem para o ano de 2012. Amostras de ar foram coletadas\u00a0<em>in situ<\/em>\u00a0diretamente do solo atrav\u00e9s do uso de c\u00e2maras est\u00e1ticas e no perfil vertical da floresta em tr\u00eas alturas diferentes (2 m, 16 m e 36 m) e acima da copa (63 m) atrav\u00e9s do uso da torre micrometeorol\u00f3gica de 65 m. Posteriormente, as amostras de ar foram analisadas por cromatografia gasosa. A concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de metano na estratifica\u00e7\u00e3o vertical da vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o foi de 1,866 \u00b1 0,038 ppm e o fluxo foi ~ 15,50 mg de CH<sub>4<\/sub>.m<sup>-2<\/sup>\u00a0d<sup>-1<\/sup>\u00a0e a emiss\u00e3o de metano no solo foi 0,45 \u00b1 0,71 mg de CH<sub>4<\/sub>\u00a0m<sup>-2<\/sup>\u00a0d<sup>-1<\/sup>.
