In continuation of a recently established tradition of back-to-back Prediction and Research moored Array in the Tropical Atlantic-PIRATA, Tropical Atlantic Climate Experiment-TACE, and Tropical Atlantic Variability-TAV meetings, the next Meeting will be held on Fernando de Noronha Island, PE, Brazil, from 14 to 17 March 2011.
Fernando de Noronha Airport (FEN) is a tiny airport, with transfers from the international
Airports in Recife-PE or Natal-RN. Regular flights by GOL, TRIP, and TAM airlines.
This meeting shall focus on process studies and observational needs to improve coupled ocean-atmosphere modeling over the tropical Atlantic, as well as address whether current regular observations over the tropical Atlantic are adequate for climate change research.
Climate events, teleconnections and anomalies in the Tropical Atlantic;
Progress and limitations on TAV predictability and prediction;
Biogeochemical cycles: Tropical Atlantic interactions and climate;
Data impact studies, validation and use of ocean reanalyzes products;
Physical processes in the coupled climate system: observational and modeling results.
